Dan Gaffney, Delaware’s #1 rated, highly entertaining and opinionated talk radio host, discussed the presence of coyotes in Delaware today on his morning radio show for WGMD 92.7 – The Talk of Delaware.
As mentioned in previous posts and in the second edition of Hunting The First State: A Guide to Delaware Hunting, coyotes inhabit all three Delaware counties, and their numbers may be on the rise. According to Joe Rogerson, game mammal biologist for the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife, Delaware has seen a gradual increase in reported coyote sightings over the past 10 years.
Since Delaware implemented a red fox hunting season this year and because coyote sighting are increasing, the second edition of Hunting The First State: A Guide to Delaware Hunting now includes chapters devoted to fox hunting and coyotes.
