Considered “varmint hunting” by many, hunting American crows is a superb way to sharpen your wingshooting skills and to beat the blues brought about by the end of deer season. When I was first asked to go crow hunting by some friends, I laughed and thought it sounded ridiculous. I thought hunting crows would be like shooting fish in a barrel, but I tagged along anyway. After wasting a box of shells and only having a few crows to show for it, I was soon the one being laughed at. Crows are wary, intelligent birds, and their keen eyesight and fondness for high flying make them formidable opponents.
