Interesting hunt today. We tried to bowhunt the kudus for about 3 hours. We really had a terrible bowhunting setup. We had no blind, so we improvised by sitting inside an old cement water storage container. We tried to use camp netting, but all that did was get in the way.
We saw about 15 kudu early, with one nice bull. However, every time we tried to move, they saw us. Drawing a bow without being seen was impossible.
After, the animals left, I decided to use a rifle if they came back. Around 3:00, a lot of kudu cows came back to feed. About 3:30, this 51″ bull showed up. I rested the .303 British on the ledge of the structure, put the crosshairs above the leg, and squeezed the trigger. The bullet struck perfectly, the bull ran 20 yards, and he dropped.
Last day tommorrow. Trying for zebra.
